Valerie Sargent Meyers (born November 1, 1971) is a Republican candidate challenging〔http://www.13wmaz.com/news/local_story.aspx?storyid=71100〕 Democratic Party incumbent Jim Marshall to represent the Georgia%27s 8th congressional district ((map )) in the 2010 United States House of Representatives elections.
== Biography ==
A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Meyers now lives with her two children, Isabel and Zane, in Bonaire, Georgia, and is a member of Warner Robins Church of Christ. Meyers graduated with a B.A . in English with a minor in Business from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 1993 and is currently working on an MBA in international business administration at Mercer University in Atlanta.
Meyers considers herself a health enthusiast and has been an avid runner for approximately twenty years. She regularly participates in marathons and triathlons. Meyers achieved a personal best of 3:42:17〔http://www.athlinks.com/results/6610/8579/54225227/Rocket-City-Marathon-2004.aspx〕 in the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, Alabama in 2004.
Meyers is employed as a technical writer and information technology business analyst for Computer Sciences Corporation in Warner Robins, Georgia, where she analyzes and documents supply chain and inventory management logistics for software development. Much of her work involves product development for Robins Air Force Base as well as other U.S. Air Force bases around the world.
